The Importance of Safe Washing
Improper washing techniques are one of the leading causes of swirl marks and light scratches on clear coats. Our exterior wash process is designed to mitigate this risk through a sequence of pre-cleaning and careful contact stages.
Our Wash Process
- Wheel Cleaning First: Alloys and tyres are cleaned using dedicated, non-acidic cleaners and soft brushes to remove brake dust without splashing dirt onto clean paint.
- Pre-Wash & Snow Foam: A layer of foaming detergent is applied to soften and lift loose dirt, road salt, and grit. This is rinsed away before any mitt touches the car.
- Safe Contact Wash: We use wash mitts and multiple buckets (keeping clean wash water separate from rinse water) to gently clean the panels working from top to bottom.
- Rinsing: Thorough rinsing to ensure no shampoo residue remains in panel gaps or trim.
- Safe Drying: Using plush microfibre drying towels or forced air to dry the vehicle, reducing friction and the risk of water spots.
Regular Maintenance Advice
For vehicles driven regularly on wet UK roads, we suggest a maintenance wash schedule that aligns with your usage. Allowing bird droppings or winter road salt to sit on the paintwork for extended periods can lead to etching or accelerated corrosion.
